Large-scale international field studies across developing regions face chronic data contamination: inconsistent enumerator pacing, faulty skip patterns, network dropouts, and multi-week lags in anomaly detection.
Scope of Engineering
Designed 600+ production survey instruments in SurveyCTO/ODK, programmed automated validation algorithms in Python, built cloud sync pipelines, and trained field supervisors across 12 countries.
How the system was engineered
Engineered strict XLSForm validation constraints preventing impossible responses at the glass. Implemented GPS geofencing, passive audio-auditing, and automated daily Stata/Python anomaly scrubbing to detect enumerator fabrication within 24 hours of submission.
